Smile! You may find the first few pages "difficult"!

After receiving a few comments that the first section of the book  (THE NATURE OF MAN AND HIS CREATOR) is "difficult", and some go back to "re-read" the section, I puzzled over the comments, remembering that it is only 12 pages!  I went back to look at it again to try to understand why these few plain-English pages would be "difficult".  As publisher, I was just too familiar to quickly catch on.

The reason hit me like a brick. The authors here speak of "GOD"! Concepts they write about require us to, well, "conceptualize"! They necessarily use what are called "superlatives", requiring the reader to attempt to deeply consider, and then intellectually and emotionally ACCEPT the grandeur of the Creator of all that exists, while knowing all along that HE is really indescribable and incomprehensible in the full meaning of those words.  We don't often use the mental discipline that is required here, because such concepts cannot be "skimmed over" to pick up just the "highlights".

Smile, and be happy! Finally here is real food for real thought, not just the day-to-day mental pablum that is the shallow diet we are normally fed by the media. Unending debate to solve social problems grinds slowly forward (or backward), and though we need fictional stories that we can "skim" for pleasurable escape, it is an immeasurable joy to be challenged to exercise the faculties that make us truly human!  DON'T FEAR THIS SHORT EFFORT!
